Opened in 1867 as Hamilton on Forth School, the first teachers being Richard Taylor and Mary Ann Wilson. Situated in the Forth Valley, it was known as a State School in 1899 and a Primary School in 1965. The school transferred to its present site in 1937.;;The school celebrated its' one hundred and fifty year anniversary in 2017
