Description:
Under 1967 legislation the Lachlan Park Hospital and Millbrook Rise Psychopathic Hospital merged to become the Royal Derwent Hospital. The Board of Management was created to take over the executive powers previously exercised by the Medical Superintendent for Lachlan Park and the Millbrook Home Board for Millbrook Rise.;;;;In order to honour commitments in the Psychopathic Hospital Act 1932 (23 Geo V No25) and the Psychopathic Hospital (Management) Act 1933 (24 Geo V No18) an Advisory Committee was established to advise the Board of Management on issuesaffecting Millbrook Rise. The Advisory Committee ceased to function when Millbrook Rise was converted to a staff training facility on 17 June 1976.;;;;The Board ceased to have a legislative basis on 20 April 1993 but continued to function until at least December 1994 and may have continued until the Royal Derwent Hospital was closed in November 2000.
