The Community and Rural Health Division brings together support services which are delivered to individuals in community settings with the goal of improving and enriching the health and wellbeing of Tasmanians. The Division also provides a focus for the planning and co-ordination of services delivered in rural areas.;;;;The division is made up of four service delivery areas, as follows. ;;Aged, Rural and Community Health brings together a range of community and rural health services to meet the needs of individuals in a changing environment. Services are provided both to develop and support communities and to help Tasmanians to maintain or improve levels of physical function or independence in the community. ;;;;Mental Health Services works with clients and their families to treat, support and manage mental disorders to maximise mental health, wellbeing and quality of life for people with a mental illness. ;;;;Services for People with a Disability aims to maintain and support people with a disability to remain in their own homes and communities and provide opportunities for increased independence. Services are provided both by government and through funded non-government organisations. ;;;;Palliative Care Services provides multi disciplinary services for people who are dying, and their families, through specialist inpatient and community outreach services.
