The Local Government Board is an independent Board established under the Local Government Act 1993 to carry out reviews of Councils (at least once every eight years) and to advise the Minister on any other matters the Minister may determine.;;;;The Board comprises four members appointed by the Minister and the Director of Local Government or his nominee. One of the members is nominated by the Municipal Association of Tasmania and another by the Institute of Municipal Management.;;;;
