Description:
The Board makes orders appointing guardians for individuals and administrators for estates. It authorises and approves medical and dental treatment for people with disabilities who are incapable of giving informed consent. It also educates persons with a disability and their families about the provisions of the Act and how to make use of them.;;;;The Board consists of a President, who must be a legal practitioner of at least 7 years standing, and at least five other members, one of whom is to be the Deputy President. The President and Deputy are appointed for 5 year terms and the rest of the Board for 3 years.;;;;
