Description:
A special school (adjacent to the Snug Primary School) for children experiencing difficulties with primary school studies. Based on the belief that learning takes place most readily if a pupil sees the usefulness of what s/he is learning, special subjects were taught such as agriculture and woodwork as well as the basic school subjects. Because the children had never studied these special subjects before they were provided more opportunities for success as well as providing skills and interests that might prove useful in later life. The aim was to provide students the opportunity to succeed before failure became a habit. The basic primary school subjects also received careful attention in a manner for those with special needs.
