Description:
The Dairy Products Marketing Board was constituted under the Dairy Products Marketing Act 1957 to regulate and control the sale of certain dairy products, namely butter and cheese.;;;;The Board provided advice to the Minister for determining a quota of production for each dairy produce manufacturer in the state. The Board also administered the registration that was required under the Act for every manufacturer, processor, dealer or owner of a cool store. According to the Act each dairy produce manufacturer was also required to pay a contribution to meet the Board's expenditure.;;;;The Board was dissolved when the Dairy Products Marketing Act was repealed in September 1977 under the Dairy Industry Act 1976 and its functions were taken over by the new Tasmanian Dairy Industry Authority.
