Style of Tasmania (SOT) was an incorporated entity formed in 1999 with an aim to 'reinvigorate the furniture and design industry' in Tasmania. The furniture industry is represented on the The Forests & Forest Industry Council of Tasmania General Council by the Furniture Industry Association of Australia and past involvement has centred on mentoring the Style of Tasmania. ;;;;SoT represented Tasmania's solid timber furniture manufacturers, large companies specialising in commercial fit-out, wooden componentry makers, designers, timber millers and veneer manufacturers. SoT targeted overseas and mainland clients and promoted their products and Tasmanian timber at trade events such as DesignX and Furnitex in Melbourne. Associations were formed with Austrade and Department of Economic Development (DED). SoT membership reduced to 6 with the AGM the only time the group met. On the 16th October 2009 the committee passed a resolution to de register SoT.;;
