The Authority was established by Council pursuant to Section 30 of the Local Government Act 1993.;;;;The purpose of the Authority was to perform all tasks necessary for construction and maintenance of flood levees, to take all necessary measures to address the flood risk to the suburb of Invermay, principally by providing a 1-in-200 year level of protection, and to manage a river dredging program.
