Note: no records have yet been transferred to TAHO by this agency. The Committee was established according to the Nature Conservation Act 2002 to advise the Minister and Secretary of the relevant Department in relation to the administration of the Act. Any compensation to be paid to a landowner is assessed by the Committee. In assessing the amount of compensation that is to be paid to a landowner the Committee must give the Minister and the landowner a reasonable opportunity to make submissions to the committee; may have regard to any matters the committee considers relevant; and must have regard to various other matters.;;These other matters are listed in Section 42 of the Act. If the Minister or the landowner disputes the amount of compensation assessed by the Committee, this may be determined by an arbitrator in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Act 2011.
