Worksafe Tasmania had five main divisions. One of these was Occupational Licensing and Building Control, comprised of Building Standards and Regulation, Audit and Compliance and Building Practitioner Accreditation.;;;;Originally this division was part of the Policy Planning Services branch of Workplace Standards Tasmania.;;;;Building Standards and Regulation was responsible for the development of policy and legislative proposals relating to the building and plumbing industries. Audit and Compliance for audits of participants in the building process, enforcing the requirement to be licensed or accredited and investigates disciplinary complaints against accredited building practitioners. Licensing and Accreditation was responsible for licensing of plumbers, gas-fitters and electrical workers, accreditation of building practitioners, registering owner builders and the processing of other occupational licensing such as the security industry, motor traders and conveyancers.;;;;The division was replace in 2013 by Building Standards and Occupational Licensing, a seperate unit with the Department of Justice.
