Description:
Building Standards and Occupational Licensing is set up within the Department of Justice and is the succeeding agency of Occupational Licensing and Building Control.;;;;It is split into four units:;;- The Directorate, which suuports the Director and Administrator;;- Building Standards and Regulation, which is responsible for the development of policy and legislative proposals relating to the building and plumbing industries.;;- Compliance and Dispute Resolution, responsible for audits of participants in the building process, enforces the requirement to be licensed or accredited and investigates disciplinary complaints against accredited building practitioners.;;- Licensing and Accreditation, responsible for licensing of plumbers, gas-fitters and electrical workers, the accreditation of building practitioners, registering owner builders, and the processing of other occupational licensing such as the security industry, motor traders and conveyancers.
