Lileah School was formerly known as Youngs Hill Provisional School, which became Youngs Hill State School in 1918 after 4 years as a subsidised school. The 1923 Education Department report lists the school name as O'Briens Corner School. In 1926 a newly erected school was opened at Lileah.;;;;Lileah Area School closed 13 August 1954 and students transferred to the new Edith Creek Area School.;;;;A subsidy was provided to a school when two or more families combine to engage a teacher, who upon being recognised by the Department, received a subsidy calculated on monthly attendance.
