Description:
The College began life in 1919 as the Queenstown Junior Technical School. On March 3 1921 the new Mt Lyell School of Mines and Industries building was opened by Governor Sir William Allardyce, and the Technical School moved in to share these premises. In 1958 classes were moved to the new R.M.Murray High School in South Queenstown, while senior technical classes continued to be offered at the Mt Lyell School of Mines and Industries.
