Description:
The Board was established under the Milk Act of 1947 and regulated and controled the production, treatment and distribution of milk. The Board was dissolved with the repeal of the Milk Act and the establishment of the Tasmanian Dairy Industry Authority under the provisions of the Dairy Industry Act 1976.;;;;Nevertheless, under the new Act there were provisions for the Milk Board's licencing and price fixing powers to continue until the expiry of their fixed terms. Licenses issued by the Board were thus considered effective until the last expired on the 30th June 1978.
