Description:
Established in 1918 the hospital was reconstituted in 1929 as a District Hospital serving the municipalities of Emu Bay, Table Cape and Circular Head. The District was redefined in 1949 and 1950, with the result that the hospital served only the Wynyard Municipality. In an effort to re-integrate hospital services in the region, Spencer merged with Burnie General Hospital on 1 December 1965 to create the North-Western General Hospital.~
