In 1952 an agreement with the Cancer Institute of Victoria established Peter McCallum Clinics in Tasmanian hospitals for the treatment of cancer patients (TGG 19 March 1952 p.989, amended 18 March 1954). In 1986 Tasmania assumed full responsibility for the service, the Cancer Services Act vesting the functions and property in the Crown. The clinic was renamed the W P Holman clinic;;;;Records prior to 1952 were held by the Peter McCallum Clinic but were created by the Commonwealth Department of Health.;;
