Description:
The Commission was appointed to enquire into allegations that the Engineer-in-Chief had been improperly influenced in his choice of route for the railway, that some parcels of land acquired for the line had been over-valued, and that the Chief Justice had acquired land along the proposed route as a result of inside knowledge. All the allegations were refuted by the Commissioner, whose report was published in the Journals and Papers of Parliament (No. 9 of 1910).
