Description:
The Registry registered deeds to land previously owned by the Crown and to make them available for public search. The Registry was also known as the Deeds Office, and as such later became part of the Land Titles Office. ;;;;It was as part of the Land Titles Office that the Registry and the position of Recorder of Titles came under the overall management of the new Department of Environment and Planning in 1989.
