Description:
Provide a range of centralised services to Tasmanian Government agencies and the public. The Department was renamed with its present title to raise the public profile of the Office of Consumer Affairs. On 18 February 1992, following the change of government, DASCA was abolished. The Centre for Information Technology and the Corporate Services Division were transferred to the Department of Premier and Cabinet. The Public Offices Division, Government Printing Office and State Purchasing and Sales Division were transferred to the Department of Treasury and Finance. The Office of Consumer Affairs and the Electroal Office were transferred to the Department of Justice.
