Description:
Toosey Aged & Community Care provided residential aged care in a high and low care facility including independent living units. Under an Order in Council on 19th June 1990 the management of public health in the Longford district became part of the Launceston region and its corresponding Board. With this change Toosey Hospital was to move from being an acute care facility to residential aged care. It was known through much of the 1990's as Toosey Memorial Hospital & Nursing Home. After 1999 it reverted to a community based administration, on land leased from the government.
