Description:
Established privately as a cottage hospital to serve Latrobe on 26 January 1888, the Devon became a public hospital on 24 July 1925 and came under the control of a District Board serving the Devonport, Kentish and Latrobe municipalities. The Devon was merged with Meercroft Hospital [TA454] on 10 January 1958 to form Mersey General Hospital.;;;;Hospital records for the period of private ownership have been accessioned as series NS1508.
