How to Use:
Descriptions of the file content and exact date range of each file were retrospectively added by TAHO volunteers to the file numbers already in the item description field. The project ran from around Feb 2013 and was completed in August 2014 and resulted in 23037 file descriptions being added to the series.
Series notes:
Includes both staff employment files and administrative files and staff files outside the Public Service Acts. A small percentage of files relate to non-railway matters. While there is evidence of culling files from this series it is also possible that files will be found renumbered and in later series of correspondence or in the case of files relating to the Railway Cottages in Series P2114 Cottage files Engineering Branch. Content of the files covers such topics as staff files, employment conditions, union matters, policy, local station business, administrative matters, maintenance issues, operational issues, interaction with business, industry and other government departments, legal agreements, land acquisition, railway sidings, regional railway stations, water supply, staff appointments, Launceston Workshops, Hobart Roundhouse etc
